The AMT-7 Audio, Monitor, and Tone Generator Card is installed in the DAB-7 Motherboard of the DAN-7. The AMT-7 supervises all the power supplies and batteries that may be connected to the DAB-7. The AMT-7 monitors all riser connections, allowing Style 4, Style 6, and Style 7 operation of the analog microphone riser as well as the analog telephone riser. With the addition of the optional DVC-7 Digital Voice Card, a Style 4 or Style 6 digital microphone riser maybe used.

The AMT-7 can simultaneously generate three annunciatory tones. This allows an Evacuation Tone and an Inquiry Tone to be generated with the added flexibility of having a third backup tone generator. The tone generators can each generate unique selectable tones. The addition of the DMC-7 Digital Message Card allows automatic selection and playback of up to 120 pre-recorded messages. All available audio sources can be routed to ASM7 amplifiers and speaker circuits within the DAN-7 node. There is no restriction on the audio source to amplifier mapping. Input/Output programming is used to determine the audio source selection for each amplifier.

The AMT-7 provides a technician-friendly local speaker to help troubleshoot audio configuration and "listen" to any audio source. Each audio source supports a volume adjustment, allowing the audio sources to be balanced. The AMT-7 provides an auxiliary hard-wired input zone and a Form C relay output. This input and output are available for general purpose functions. Jumpers enable the data communication network to be terminated at the last node of the line. Indicators display power supply faults, riser faults, ground faults, and degrade mode operations.
